Palouse Adventures

I had a great Saturday with the girls. Sue was at a Women's retreat at Clearwater Lodge on Davis Lake. David's birthday party was scheduled for Saturday evening at the Palouse Grange Hall. I decided to make a day out of it, and it ended up being a lot of fun.

We left the house about 10:00 Saturday morning. The trip down was a lot of fun in itself. I spent a fair amount of time explaining the various geographic attractions along the way. The winter wheat was a big hit. Of course, Elizabeth thinks that any plant that goes to seed is wheat.

Our first stop in Pullman was Emerald's house. Emerald is a Golden Retriever we dog-sat for last Summer. The girls make a strong association between Pullman and Emerald, and had been asking to visit her as soon as they found out that we would be making a trip. Once we got there, they got a little gun shy. Emerald was a little more active than they remembered her. There was still some petting though. After that I asked Emily where we should go for lunch. Where else but here?

Then we spent a couple of hours at the Palouse Discovery Science Center. They had a really good time there and didn't want to leave. I needed a break though. A coffee sounded like a good way to kill some time, and so I decided to head over to my favorite coffee shop on the planet: Bucer's Coffee House in Moscow. After a Mexican mocha, it was time to head to the party.

The party can be summed up in one word: CRAZY! That would be directly related to Elizabeth's non-stop dancing. I had a hard time believing how outgoing she was. She definitely seems to be a fan of dancing to live music! The band wasn't too bad either.

Now she wants a band at her birthday party...
